- In chemistry, how much of a substance
- (solute) is present in a specified amount of
- a solution. Either amount may be specified as
- a mass or a volume (liquids only). Common
- units used are moles per cubic decimetre,
- grams per cubic decimetre, grams per 100
- cubic centimetres, or grams per 100 grams. It
- also refers to the process of increasing the
- concentration of a solution by removal of
- some of the substance in which the solute is
- dissolved (solvent).
